Who we are?
We are a group of women from Rahat who have organized a Non-Profit Organization (NGO) with a mission that includes advancement and empowerment of women, and the improvement of the status of Arab women in Rahat, and throughout the Negev.
Women are the most oppressed group within the vulnerable Bedouin population. Considering the many problems which Bedouin women have to deal with, including the lack of higher education and employment, discrimination, and social exclusion; the goal of the voluntary association is to break this cycle of oppression and discrimination, and transform women into active participants in society.
The organization relies on volunteers for its activities, in cooperation with other groups in the city. We believe that by involving women as active partners within the community, the family and society in Israel will be strengthened.
RWA was founded in 2004 and registered as an NGO with the Registrar of Voluntary Associations of the Ministry of Justice in 2005.
